| Mr. Ted Canterbury was most honorably promoted to 1st Dan during the belt testing that occurred on Friday, October 13, 2006 at Greenbrier Tae Kwon Do Academy. Sitting on the testing committee were Master Richard Hodder, 8th Dan and Tae Kwon Do Director of Operations for the United States Korean Martial Arts Federation of Houston, Texas; Master Chris Rock, 4th Dan and owner of Dae-Yang Tae Kwon Do in the Outer Banks, NC; Master James Morgan, 4th Dan and owner/head instructor of Greenbrier Tae Kwon Do Academy of Lewisburg, WV; Mr. Jeff Mauzy of Lewisburg, 2nd Dan student/instructor at GTKDA; and Mr. Matthew Sloan of Lewisburg, 1st Dan student/instructor at GTKDA.
Mr. Canterbury showed extraordinary skills while demonstrating kicking, self-defense(vs. both unarmed and armed opponents), free sparring(vs. both single and mulitple opponents), board and concrete breaking, and advanced knowledge of Tae Kwon Do as well as other Korean martial arts.
It is a great honor to promote such a fine student to this rank of proficiency.
It would be in the best interest for all martial artists to look to Mr. Canterbury as a great role model to follow.
Congratulations Ted! You earned it. |
